just a few updates
friday
saw the happening with some friends. whatever you do, do not see this movie. it is dog shit. i loved (or at least enjoyed) all of m. night's other films, but he has completely and totally lost it now. spare yourself.
saturday
probably the worst day in a while. we discovered that our sink has been leaking into the ceiling of the unit below us. i guess the water had been pooling for a while and saturday morning it finally broke through the ceiling and flooded the guy's kitchen. so now we get to pay to repair his ceiling and pay to have a plumber install a new sink/faucet. and we can't really use the kitchen sink in the meantime on account of leakage.
we went out to lunch and upon returning home discovered that jon's scooter had been stolen from our backyard. it's been chained up in the same spot since he bought it. he's gone through probably 6 or 7 chains, most of which were hacked to pieces by delinquents. the scooter and it's current chain had been ok for a couple months and then finally on saturday they were able to cut through it and it was just gone. ugh. filed a police report and an insurance adjuster is coming on tuesday so there's that.
sunday
rode our bikes around for about an hour in the evening, searching alleyways in and around our neighborhood to see if anyone abandoned the scooter. they did not. at least not that we could find. as we were headed home we saw a guy riding a scooter identical to jon's, and it was pretty beat up as if it had been stolen so we tailed him for about 10 minutes. it was hard, seeing as how he was on a scooter and we were on bikes. followed him to a house, where he got off and walked around. we would have examined the scooter more closely but he came back and then rode off. we followed him for a bit more, but i think he was onto us so he lost us. it sucked.
