So, Kiba now at 4 months is going through teething and what-not.
Totally understandable and we do what we can to give him plenty of toys inside. He's chewed up a few things (my eyeglasses while I was sleeping, and my metal-framed photo album)- Other than those 2 things, he's been doing quite well (high-rise potty training went VERY well with our box of sod on the balcony).
My question here is, whenever I take him to our small leash-free area at the apartments I live at and he plays with other dogs, he constantly will bite and nip at their faces. He will grab a hold of an ear or a lip.
Whenever I see him doing this, I feel rather embarrassed and pull him back. Luckily a lot of the other owners that are out there when this happen, don't seem to mind, as he's never drawn blood, but it seems like it doesn't matter HOW BIG or small the other dogs are...he wants to bite/nip their face.
Is this just part of his teething? or is there another issue at hand here that needs to be handled?
I have wondered this, because even when he is playing with older, stronger, bigger dogs such as pits and he gets too much for them and they will roll him and stand on/over him....he still just won't stop.
Of all the dogs I have owned and been raised around I've never had this issue. Is Kiba just going to always want to be alpha, is that the case here?
He will be starting puppy classes on the 27th and I hope that doing some socializing in a more controlled environment might help-
