Luxating Patella
My mom's peekapoo Henry was just diagnosed with a grade 2 Luxating Patella. Poor thing. He was just in for his routine vaccinations and he vet found the patellar problem in both hind knees :(
Poor Henry... but honestly, he doesn't seem to be having any issues. He's active. Runs, plays, goes up and down the stairs without a problem and jumps onto and off of the couch. We decided to keep him on a low fat diet to make sure that any additional weight doesn't make the problem worse. But is there anything else we can do? Anyone have any problems with luxating patellas?
The vet told me about the surgery, and said that we can hold off unless the knees start giving Henry a problem. But I'm just curious (and I forgot to ask...) any ideas on the costs on a patellar surgery?
