damn this newfangled technology
I'm seeking tech advice because the internet has failed me.
I have an android phone and for months I've been using the standard twitter application and it worked fine. It gave me notifications, it updated the tweets regularly. A couple of weeks ago it stopped working. It no longer gave notifications and when I opened the app to look at the tweets it was stuck several days in the past and when I hit "refresh" it just reloaded the same tweets. I cleared the cache, downloaded an update and it seemed to be working fine. Then a few days later notifications stopped again. If I open the application and refresh the tweets this time they load, but I always have to check them manually. I have googled the shit out of this and have found no solution. I need to know either a) how to fix this or b) a different app I can download to meet my needs. I downloaded TweetDeck but it seems to just let me check them manually, I would really like it to give me notifications.
