It was a long time ago, when I first launched a diatribe about Australian Music after 2005's (!) "Triple J's Hottest 100".

A number of bands have tried the concept album over the years. Beatles, Pink Floyd, Fear Factory to name just a few of the top of my head. And while some can become modern classics, most, the last in the preceding list included, end up being wanky tripe. Mudvayne have got away with it on "A New Game", ( but mainly by checking the gimmick at the door. )

It would be simple to say that Death Magnetic is a return to the heady days of "Ride The Lightning" and "...And Justice For All". But that is not the case. Not really.
