Supernatural Fic: Slaying Dragons

May 10, 2006 00:01

I've had 3 or 4 ideas concerning Dean and Papa whirling around inside my head every since Devil's Trap aired, and I have yet to find a productive way to let them out. This is one of those ideas, but I'm not sure this is the right way to put it to fiction.

Because I'm not getting much of anywhere just letting them clank against each other inside my ( Read more... )

I'm pretty sure you expaned this later but, man, the image of John as a Dragon-slayer is just perfection.
I keep wondering, DID John, just for a few seconds control the demon? Did he force it to let Dean go, and did he then try and tie the demon to himself so that Sam could kill it? Did the demon leave John or escape him?

Why yes, I AM spending most of the day today going back and reading all the fic on your "spn fic" tag. How could you tell? ;P

This is heartbreaking. I love that you love Dean and John the same way I do - all pain and hero worship and mutual need for someone to lean on. Where better to use all my John & Dean icons???

And therein lies the rub. Because he believes you can.
Ow, my heart.

Heh! I actually went back yesterday and futzed with my tags just for you. Cause I am SO negligent about actually tagging my entries properly. But I tried to make sure that at least all my SPN fic has an SPN fic tag on it now.

And absolutely, John and Dean are my THANG. I love exactly what you're referring to ... pain and hero worship and mutual need. Make my world go round.

Aww, thank you! I wouldn't want to miss anything!

John and Dean are my THANG.
Omg, me too. I love them so much. *whispers* maybe almost more than Dean and Sam*/whispers*

That's okay, you don't have to whisper here. People on my journal are kind of used to it all being about the relationship between John and Dean instead of Dean and Sam. Of course, if you don't want to be a known sailor on that boat then I'll lower my voice and whisper with you to say *that's okay, you're amongst friends*

Oh, this was once again perfect. Oh, how I love angsty John and angsty Dean. And really, that scene...it made it so very, very clear that Dean really is the center of that family. From his blind faith in his father to somehow win over that demon to the low command to Sammy to not kill their dad. And I believe that both John and Sam follow his commands in that scene. Yep.

*sniffles*

Thanks so much. This was one of the first pieces I wrote in SPN fandom. You are aware that it is the first in a trilogy, yes?

I so didn't but now I do and...*sniffles*

Saving Dean. Because in the end, he’s all that’s ever really mattered.
That has got to be one of the most heartbreakingly beautiful sentences ever... And so very Sammy!

What a great, great trilogy. With Dean and John prisoners of the dynamics between them...each defining himself through the other...the other's faith and love...and Sammy being the only one even able to see the whole picture...

Okay, so there'll be nothing else to do but read my way through your whole 'spn fic'-list. Yep.

LOL. Best use of a trilogy ever (getting you to read your way through my whole spn fic list) :D

I will continue to believe John can slay dragons (maybe I'm in denial). He does wear that tortured heroism well.

I'm with you. I still believe, too. This is actually one of a trilogy, with the other two parts from Dean and Sam's perspectives, respectively.

Love your icon, BTW. Too funny.
