Wind chills by Monday may be close to -30 across the area. The National Weather Service ( Read more... )

It's getting that cold down here, too, but we're probably only going to get about two inches of snow. (I mean, our non-wind chill temps will go down to about zero. I doubt we'll go down to thirty below!)

Our lowest temps hit -15, which is almost 50 below freezing and we got almost an entire foot of snow which, added onto the snow we had from the ice storm the week before, we now have 16 inches outside, which then blew into drifts that are at minimum (based on my sister's height who went outside and fell in one) 2 1/2 feet high. I know we are made of heartier stuff here in regards to enduring the cold, but this is fucked up shit, man. So I laugh at your two inches of snow. You come back and laugh at me when it's 105 outside this summer.

Also, I would prefer being trapped in Sands of Time with SHIRTLESS Jake Gyllenhaal. :)

That's not an option! Teenage Jake Gyllenhaal is the model that comes with The Day After Tomorrow style apocalypse. If you don't like it, please file a complaint with The Apocalypse Board (I believe they are located on the third floor of Wolfram and Hart).

Mock all you want - I'm just glad our power didn't go out and our pipes didn't freeze, which happened to a LOT of people (and schools, so I had another "snow" day today, which I completely wasted in napping, housework, and reading - yay for wasted time!).

I won't laugh at you when it's 105 - that's too damned hot!

Um. Damn. Nothing's worth a visit to W&H!

I am glad of that too - for us both! We were worried about the power because if we lost ours, then our mom would more than likely lose hers and we'd be stuck going to a hotel with my sister, me and my walker, my elderly mom, five cats and a dog. Can you imagine that sight?

Yay for an excellent day off!! Now were you closed for the snow itself or for the temps, because I know a lot of places (us included) have rules about not having school if it is below a certain degree outside because too many kids walk to school. My sister works in the capitol (for the state) and the State actually had to close down because the Mayor was only allowing emergency persons on the road (police, emts, and doctors/hospital staff) and since 90% of State offices are in Lansing, they had to shut that shit down.

It's rare for us, but it happens.

Um. Damn. Nothing's worth a visit to W&H!

But that's where Lindsey and his deliciously evil hand are!!!!!!!!

That hotel would have to be mighty flexible, I think!

No, we were out for the cold instead of the snow.

Hey, Lindsey leaves W&H sometimes....
