Classic Who Meta: did the Doctor keep his promise to Susan?
The first companion of the Doctor was his granddaughter Susan, and he leaves her to rebuild the earth after the events of The Dalek Invasion of Earth. He says in his farewell speech to her that "one day [he] shall come back" assuming to visit her. Do you think he ever did? If so, do you accept the Eighth's Doctor's reunion with her in the Big Finish production An Earthly Child as canon? How would a reunion (or lack thereof) explain the Doctor's relationship with his granddaughter?
