Martha and Eleven have already met in the Doctor Who comics; It was strained; He was still harping on the Osterhagen Key, complete forgetting that Martha not only opted out of using it, but pursuaded the other two people not to use it. She got under his skin mentioning Jack and the 456, and they parted on friendly terms, but not friends. I'm curious, as Moffat has stated that Martha is the only one of the Three of Ten's companions that he can logically bring back in a UNIT story, that if Freema gets the time, and he writes something, if he plans to keep the relationship between the two characters lukewarm.

I would love to see Martha meet Eight--he liked physicians, and was fun, encouraging, and dashing. I think Martha would have got on well with Doctors One through Seven (Minus SIX!); The writers who created Seven and Ace, tackled racial prejudice from the British POV (Condescending, maybe a bit, but you would not have seen the Doctor in any guise submit to it), and those also created the charming courtship between Winnifred Bambara and Acelyn, so I think that gorup would taken the marvelous character of Martha Jones and made her shine. Martha would have been a "First" in a time when a "first" meant something.

I think, if Nine met Martha before he met Rose, that they would have had a lot of Sarah Jane type fun. They would have grown very close, in a sweet mentor to apprentice relationship, with the source of redemption fo Nine very different, as Martha didn't need him to escape, or as a Father figure. imagine Nine spending Christmas with the Jones family.

I wouldn't wish Six on my worst enemy, but Donna handled Ten's angst and drama well, so I think she would have straightened out Six.

Had Nine met Donna before he met Rose, again it would have been a very different show. It would have been a more clever, witty show, but still sexy relationship, kind of Four and Romana II.

Trying to imagine Nine dealing with Wee Amelia's crack in the wall, and firting with River--although Nine and River physically, might have been a little too much raw sensuality for family viewing. :-O

Ten, epsecially post Rose Ten with wee Amelia, Amy, River and Rory: Ewwww. Really. No. Then again, Moffat had every intentions of writing for Ten before Tennant quit, so maybe he could have carried it off.

Rose with Eleven. Matt and Billie have acted together Diary of a Call Girl and seemed have had fun romping around, and are cute together, but I can't see Mister Moffat allowing Eleven to carry torch for Rose, so it might be Rose with 10.5.

I think Amy would've handled Six well, too. Anyone who didn't get insulted by his jabs or shot a jab back him/herself rather easily dealt with Six. In the audios, he's more mellow, so ... he'd be more apt to get along better with most any of the NuWho companions there.

Well, Six.... Where there is Amy there is Rory. And we would have to alter the basic elements of the Pond/Doctor relationship that makes it special--at least for me. Adult Amy with Rory could tolerate Six yes, however Amy is in the Doctor's life because he went back to help Wee Ameila. Six after he regenerated was not ift company for an adult let a seven year old child. Just plain scary. Seven and Amy/Amelia--I love that image.

I didn't know Martha and Eleven had met in the comics! I probably would have hunted down the issue if I had, although if they weren't getting along, I'm rather glad I didn't. That's kind of sad, because Eleven seems like he could have been nicer to Martha than Ten was.

They get over it. Eleven is traveling with Americans from the early 1920s. I think it's Don't Step on the Grass.

Hmm, maybe I will see if I can find it, then.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Don't Step on the Grass a 10th Doctor story? Maybe I've gotten two different stories mixed up... I definitely remember Ten travelling with two 1920s Americans.

That is the a Tenth Doctor Story; the one with Eleven is called the Golden Ones.

Gotcha. Did they have a similarly standoffish relationship in The Golden Ones? I haven't been able to find many details about that one, at least the Martha aspects.

Haven't read it, and I mixed up the details with Don't Step On the Grass--but here is the Synopsis. I'm not certain if they meet as the synopsis says Amy asks who Martha is: http://tardis.wikia.com/wiki/The_Golden_Ones_(comic_story)

Yeah, I thought that entry was a little light on the details, but it doesn't sound like they met in person, does it. I'm guessing the comics are avoiding that kind of thing so as not to contradict possible future TV stories (fingers crossed!)
