An interesting little tidbit on casting from Gaiman.

The Radio Times is reporting (via Gaiman's tumblr) that a black actor was approached to the play The Doctor but turned it down. He refuses to say who it was as he was told in confidence.

There's an official Doctor Who announcement being made tonight at midnight, but it looks like the news has already broken (unconfirmed so far, though) the Twelfth Doctor will be announced at 7pm BST on Sunday during a live show hosted by Zoe Ball with Matt Smith, Steven Moffat and the new person.
