Uuuuuugh, how long's it been since I updated? Sorry for the long silence. Life has been...hectic, to say the least. *grimace*
Jack in the Box has been denying Nick's unemployment for a bullshit, made up reason. Nick's too...I don't even know what. Apathetic? Whatever. Apparently he hasn't given enough of a shit about having extra income in order to actually pursue it, so fucking whatever. (Can you tell this has been a source of some annoyance for me?) I guess it doesn't matter much anymore, since Nick started at WalMart this week. Still want to wring at least a little money out of those dickweeds.
Beginning of the month was pretty scary, because we didn't have any money and couldn't get ahold of any of the assholes who owe us money (another thing Nick hasn't been pursuing much). Luckily, Nick's IRS refund came in just in time. Like, literally it came in the mail the last day rent was due. So that was a bullet neatly dodged.
I have, in the mean time, been working my ass off in produce and getting very goddamn tired of all these managers up in my business. So I asked for a transfer to another store. ...I asked over a month ago and my manager still hasn't fucking contacted them, so I'm going to be looking for work elsewhere because fuck this and fuck them. I am just completely fed up with the manager's bullshit. On top of that, I find out that after five years of raises I'm still making less than the starting pay at WalMart. I mean seriously, what the actual fuck is that even. So yeah, my plan is to use up all my medical insurance that I have with Kroger (new glasses, maybe get my teeth checked, general check-up, etcetera), find a new job, and then finally put Kroger behind me for good. May give my union rep a nice card before I go, he's been pretty helpful and I appreciate it.
In less bitchy news (and I may do a separate post later for getting into depth on the job bitchery), Nick and I are going to Dallas Comic Con this weekend for his birthday. Special guests are Stan Lee and Leonard Nimoy and we are super stoked about it. Also Todd Nauck is going to be there and I've been a fan since his work on Young Justice. So yeah, mental squees are happening. I am really looking forward to having a whole weekend where I don't have to worry about much and have no real responsibilities and can just fucking RELAX. (And now that Nick's working again, I think my stress levels are going to go down considerably.) For the past month or two I've just been constantly busy, constantly working, constantly taking care of something and I just...I am just so very, very tired. So yes, Con can't come soon enough. I'll probably spend most of it wearing my Booster Gold Fan Club shirt (yes, I have one). I'll probably be keeping an eye out for anyone cosplaying Booster and trying to get a pic with them. If I manage this, I will definitely post pics to boostle. (Oh god how long has it been since I posted there? I'm sorry for neglecting youuuuu! *wibble*) If anyone else is going to Dallas Comic Con, hit me up for a "hello" and/or possibly a sketch. (Speaking of sketches, I may have been commissioned last night to do a picture for monies. Details in a separate post once I know more.) Aaand finally, to cap things off, I dropped my phone yesterday and now it's broke. Having a new one sent to my parents' house, so it should get there about the same time that we do.
