"I won't miss all the glamour
While my heart is beating and the lilacs bloom
But who knew when I started
That Id find a love and bring him home
Just get me there and one we will stay
A long time off and far away" - diana krall
Ever have a song stick in your head? Haunt you so that you can hear the melody anytime, anyplace? That's how I feel about the entire CD that the short verse above comes from "The Girl in the Other Room" by Diana Krall. It has a jazz feel to it, she's an alto, and it's music that I can actually sing along to, and stay on the same key.
I really don't have much else to say. Today I am grateful to be me, grateful to be alive and grateful that those I love are alive, when at least one could have been on a slab on in a hospital. I truly believe that there is a being bigger than us that watches over us and protects us.
There are six more weeks to this adventure of student teaching, and many people yet to observe me work. May the passing days go sweetly.
"Accessory after the fact
I walked back in where I started
The bar plays the sports news
To drown out the old ghosts that I knew
Oh well, I've changed my address
And as I departed
I only took what I needed
I guess I've changed my address" -- diana krall
