So, it's now a full week after Thanksgiving, and I can finally come up for air and update on the past week's goings-on.

So, my dad served in the Korean War.  He never much talked about it - I know only two stories, neither of them the stuff of epic movies, but each it its own humble, personal way powerfully indicative of the sacrifices made by our men and women in uniform to defend our country.

So, on this Veterans' Day, I remember, and i'm thankful.

So, yesterday was something of a long day devoted to school.  My schedule:

8:00 am - arrive at school for admissions event
12:30 pm - depart school after admissions event to go coach football game
5:30 pm - depart Rival School for home after coaching football game (we lost, alas)
7:30 pm - head back to school to chaperone Homecoming kickoff dance

So, when TLC and I returned from England, I ran through the mail, and found a flyer from my audiologist bearing the banner heading "$500 Hearing Aids - Summer Blowout Sale".  I called the very next day and set up an appointment for today.  Fortunately, they still had some of the on-sale hearing aids left.  A new pair sits on my ears as I type.  ( Read more... )
