Classes! Woo!

a few queries:
1) hey nina, is bonin a good teacher? i'm taking econ 301 with either him or yohe next semester, and neither of them seems ideal. bonin's section is at 9 am, but while that's a pain in the butt, it also conflicts with fewer things. wait, why am i deciding this now? it's not like it'll fill up..

2) has anyone heard things about the women's studies sophomore seminar, gender in history? and/or jennifer tucker? i know it's for sophs only, but i have the power of the css on my side.. "but professor, i want to be able to bring a fresh perspective into the hegemonic dialogue of css!" i should find out what's up with the css colloquium next year first, i guess. hm. if they pull through with a critical theory course, do i trust them to do it properly?

3) early afam history? it looks awesome. but it conflicts with an awesome french class (come to me, my sweet sweet HA credit..)

4) history of film to WWII? i'm all about gaining a new perspective on this period of history, and getting to understand film, but i don't want to be screwed over by the intro film "go on, try to get into this major, bitch" attitude. taking 4 gateway courses to three majors at once might not be a good idea.

here's one possible configuration of my schedule for next year:
tuesday: microeconomics 9-10:20, quantitative methods in econ 10:30-12, french 2:40-4, wmst 7-10
wednesday: 0 classes! workday and/or support group goes here.
thursday: 3 hours of econ before noon, french until 4
friday - monday: party like it's 2004

for the record, partying like it's 2004 entails spending 6-8 hours per day in the library, because good christ, that is a harsh schedule.
i am so freaking excited.
if i get labor economics with skillman and the community research seminar in the spring, it'll be just like heaven.

woo. going to bed now.

ps - everyone should check out the 200-level economics electives. economics of welfare reform has no prereqs, and will make you look smart next time you fight with evil conservatives.
