Well, think about it this way. If there were alien spaceships covering the whole sky and freaky creatures roaming around, and you were a real Roman, would you still be hanging around?

I don't know. There were some pretty dumb Romans - I'm looking at you, Nero. Makes sense if it is Rory!Auton although it would make me lol a bit as it would then be a theme of Auton!boyfriends.

I can buy Auton!Rory, but not so sure about the *whole* Roman legion. I mean, that's a lot of plastic.

(And by that I mean, I fully expect to see a couple of Romans who ARE Autons, barring the whole legion.)

I think it might just be the leaders of the Roman legion that are Autons. They'd certainly be much better Autons than we've seen since, well, ever.
