Serious/news/digest comm?

I've been looking at our calendar and I've noticed that since 2010 started, there have been at least two posts every single day.  On some days, there were nearly 20 posts and we're averaging about 5-7 posts per day currently, which means we're eating a lot of people's friend pages, including my own.

As a result, I want to start a news/digest comm

I'd like to help out with that. I post news stuffs on Google Wave (which is kinda sad cause DW fandom there is really inactive. Anyone want an invite?), which is basically me collecting all interesting posts I've found in my daily stalking.

Awesome! I'll let you and any others who volunteered to be involved know when I create the comm and we can work out schedules or whatever else this is going to entail.

People actually use Google Wave? Every time my friends and I play with it, it just hurts my head, and then I forget to check it for days. And no one ever wants an invitation. I still have 20!

I only use it to update that wave once in a while, not sure if anyone actually reads it. I have 25 invites! I don't know why they kept giving me them! I"m going to have to punch a friend to get them to take it or something lol!

Wow, this is a good idea. While I'm loyal to this comm - shenanigans and all! - I know a few people who would rather have news and important stories given straight up without other posts inbetween.

I'm definitely interested in being involved with the comm if you create it. A more serious and straight-forward sister site to 'doctoreleven'.Would it be including news for the whole show, or just Matt Smith's series in particular?

It would focus exclusively on this era of the show and the cast/crew involved.

I love the silliness of this comm! I don't mind some lulz going along with my SRS news stories. I understand not everyone feels that way, hence the idea for another outlet. But I will probably just stick around here.

And that's pretty badass that the comm gets at least two posts everyday!! Get yourself a glass of champagne, girl!

I love the silliness too, but I need to do my job as a mod and make sure our more serious members are accommodated. Plus, it'll give everyone a choice, depending on how they're feeling on whatever day, they'll be able to get in on a serious discussion or a more silly discussion.

I actually didn't anticipate this much silliness when I created the comm, it just kind of bloomed on its own and I went along with it. =O
