Just got back from seeing The Fantastic Mr. Fox with Seconda and her friend.

It was the best dark, existential, stop-motion animated film I've seen in a long time.

One thing I wonder about: I understand why all the human characters were played by British actors, but why were all the animals voiced by North Americans?

A dark, disturbing fable about greed, exploitation, misery and disappointment.

Lars and the Real Girl, go get and see it right now! We saw it last night and loved it. While it doesn't hold up to overly-close scrutiny, it has enough of the fabulous about it to allow for suspension of disbelief (at least for us, it did).

Cary Grant made three movies I can think of in which he played a man either divorced or about to be be divorced from the female lead, with whom he traded wisecracks until the two of them reunited:

Ralph Bellamy got to play the guy the woman almost marries in two of them.

The series focuses on the films coming out of Hollywood before the imposition of the production code. Some of them are quite startling, actually.
