McKay still has him doing nothing but watching the power levels and ensuring they don't drop below the needed level, or just as bad, spike. Though an important job, almost anyone on the science team could do it and it's sends out a clear message that McKay can't put his personal feelings aside to put their resources to the best use in a crisis.
