My new warden is a detective. The irony is not lost on me, Admiral. [Sigh.] It does make one wonder. Does anyone actually like their warden ( Read more... )

I don't think there's a single warden who I actually like. [Pause.] Although Nygma is a slightly different kettle of fish. He doesn't count.

I'm going to assume because of the whole Batman/Gotham thing rather than something insidious.

The Batman is an excellent subject for bonding. Regardless, Nygma's a warden. He would never do anything insidious. It's rather boring.

Because wardens are the good guys and the inmates are the bad guys, huh?

I know you're cautious and it's not like you're my inmate any more, so I won't worry. [Except she will.]

That's how the system works. That's how the systems always worked.

Caution is what I tend to do best. [She's probably making the right call.]

I think that's how the systems like to
think they work, whether they're successful, well, I don't think the justice systems in my world is any more infallible than yours.

Ok.

Hypothetically, the Admiral may be infalliable. And don't all the wardens answer to him?

Guess that depends on your hypothesis. Floods, at least in the opinion of the large majority, suggests that he isn't. And where there is a flaw one place, it's unreasonable to expect there to be no flaws anywhere else.

I've had a lot a bosses, some even called themselves 'Fate' but I don't believe they're infalliable.

Maybe, the Admiral cares less about warden's morals and more about how their talents can be used to change the inmates. For the better I guess.

Your logic is sound, but we need to consider the fact that we only see what the Admiral wants us to see. He could be steering right into the floods for all we know.

Well, I wouldn't know about that. Frankly, I'm unclear on how Nygma could change anyone.
