"What a positively ludicrous question!" said the Doctor indignantly as he looked at Pangalactic Immigration Form Zed-1A42.

The Official looked at him in a very officious way and sniffed, "It's that question, Citizen, or number 87. Take your pick."

The Doctor flipped through the pages in quadruplicate and skimmed over question 87 which took up an inch of paper in and of itself.

"Oh, very well," he testily conceded. After all, there was nothing in the document's fine print that said anything about taking it seriously.

SWM, in the prime of his lives. Super genius. Adventurous, dashing, tall and robust. Excellent sense of humor and impeccable taste in clothing. Enjoys traveling to exotic locales, exploring ancient and futuristic civilizations, and spending long, lazy millennia fishing on quiet exotic shores. Fluent in 2,137 intergalactic languages. Bright, intelligent, with doctorates in more than 30 subjects. Abhors violence and weapons but handy with electronics and gadgets. Seeks companion of any age, race, species, or sex for long trips, leisurely strolls and educational expeditions. Strictly platonic. Must have some modicum of common sense or, at the very least, an innate ability to remove oneself from sticky wickets. Experience in diplomacy and intergalactic travel helpful but not mandatory. Sturdy, sensible shoes a must. Please direct all inquiries and applications in care of Doctor John Smith, Chief Scientific Advisor, U.N.I.T., London, UK, Earth. Please include a return, self-addressed envelope with notation of date, galaxy, and millennium for responses.
