Just realized that I hadn't officially stated that I have returned to NOLA safely and after a pleasantly uneventful journey. Not entirely uneventful - we stopped to see Princess for a couple days, which was good. Jacksonville, NC has nothing going for it, save for the Mai Tai Chinese Buffet. And that's one more thing than I thought was good

So. Have you painted the car?

Not yet. At this point, even $50 of spray paint is an excessive expense that I dare not undertake. Once I start generating some income, though, paint is high on the list of priorities. I also want a full set of cow-print seat covers for the van, and a 36-inch TV or larger for the living room. Those are the major goals for the immediate future. They take a back seat to the major goal of the present, which is eating.

But Jacksonville, NC, is close to Emerald Isle, NC, if I am not mistaken. And Emerald Isle, NC, and most of the Outer Banks are pleasant places to beeeee. I wish I had been able to go there this year; it's where my family always vacations.

I have no problems with the Outer Banks. I've never spent any time there, but have heard wonderful things. However, Jacksonville sucks.
