Hello people!
MERRY CHRISTMAS EVE!
I didn't sleep too well last night.
Partially because I was so excited about Christmas Eve, partially because teh rents and I watched a particularly frightening Paranormal State before going to bed. It freaked me out and I was up until about 2:00, even though I went to bed at about 11:00. I woke up at 7:30 this morning, feeling as though no time had passed whatsoever. I tried to go back to sleep, but I couldn't, so I decided to get up.
I turned on the TV and watched a little bit of Bring It On: All or Nothing. I heard dad get up about half an hour later, so I headed downstairs to say hi. Mom got up a few seconds later and I said hi to her, as well. I took a very quick shower then the three of us decided to watch a movie. Before I begin the day, though, let me explain the whole Christmas Eve thing to you guys. Usually, we don't do anything until the evening.
Around 7:00 PM, Christmas Eve night, we have our Fun-Filled Finger-Food Feast, which consists of ONLY finger-foods. Then we watch our Christmas specials on DVD; The Grinch, Charlie Brown, Claymation Christmas, Garfield. After that, we open our stockings. Then we go up to Nick's room, where we read The Night Before Christmas. Then, finally, we go to bed. We never open presents early; we wait til Christmas morning.
However, this year, we've changed it up a bit. We decided that we would open our stockings in the morning on Christmas Eve, once all of us were up. We'd still have our feast and watch our specials at the same time as usual, but instead of going to bed early tonight (which never goes over well, lol), we're gonna stay up til midnight, then open all of our presents. THEN, we'll go to bed. I'm actually really excited!
Anywho, we watched Scrooged. Nick came down about halfway through and watched the rest of the movie with us. Teh rents had to run out to the store real quick, so Nick and I watched the Spongebob Christmas Special. Then we flipped back and forth between A Johnny Bravo Christmas and Mickey's A Christmasl Carol. We used to love the latter when we were little. It's really depressing, though. :(
I didn't like watching it, but Nick insisted. Mom and dad finally came home and we opened our stockings. I got candy, gum, a bracelet, a Hot Wheels, Bo Burnham's CD (<3), the 1st Glee soundtrack, the You've Got Mail soundtrack, a Christmas CD called, "Voices of Christmas," which has a bunch of today's artists performing Christmas songs, both original and classic. I also got all four Batman movies.
I'm definitely not a Batman fan, but for some reason, I enjoy the movies, lol. *shrugs* I especially love the one with the Penguin...Batman Forever? I think that's it. Anywho, the last thing I got, which is my absolute favorite, is an Eye of Ra necklace. It's so gorgeous. I put it on right away. We watched Home Alone 2 after all that. Then we all decided to try to nap. I went to the living room to lay down and channel surfed.
I intended to sleep, myself, but wound up turning on Jurassic Park III. I got caught up in the movie, as usual, and had to watch it, lol. So, I did. Mom went upstairs and wrapped stuff and Nick slept. Dad watched the movie with me. I fell asleep for about twenty minutes, but woke up when something loud came on the TV, lol. I flipped through the channels and have been chilling out, mostly, and now, here we are.
We are having our feast pretty soon, hopefully, cuz I'm hungry. Title of this post is from the Spongebob Christmas Special. It makes me happy, cuz it's true. On Christmas, things really are as good as they seem to be. It's wonderful.
Love y'all - Mira/Doc/Kat *meow*
