I like that I have mornings where I can take my time to get ready or, as I'm doing now, lounge in bed while doing some work. This last one is a particular fave now as I rearranged my bedroom and because I've got one kitty at my right elbow and the other at my left ankle - I feel loved. It reallly is a conductive work environment.
Last night I had a phone interview with Rock Valley College about a full-time position. They didn't call til around 7:30p, which meant I'd been sitting at my desk waiting for 2hrs. As a result I got a little hyped up and probably whipped through my answers kinda fast. Still, I'd jotted down some talking point beforehand and was able to refer to them, so it wasn't as if I drew a total blank. I'll hear next week if I make the cutdown or not.
In the meantime, by my estimation I am down to just one more chapter to go on my dissertation and that one is probably 60% complete. I think its funny that I say its nearly done because its really not; just this stage is nearly overly.
But in talking with my advisor last night, I started thinking more about applying for another job in-state. I still really want to move west but there is currently a lot of good research she and I are getting into that will be easier to collaborate on if I'm still local-ish. That's probably the best reason I've found to stay so far. To my IL friends, that is not a knock on you but we're all so disjointed in our locations and activities - the core is fractured.
Time to do a little more writing...
jobs,
dissertation,
research
