My room's thorough cleaning has been a long time coming. And for a brief 30 min stint, it got just that...before my thin excuse for motivation ran dry. But with my false motivation, I did manage to clean out my desk and set up my new printer. In that process I cleared out my desk (which was covered in a bed of assorted USC, USAA, motorcycle insurance, and other misc. spam mail layered in a manner much to the likes of a geological dig) and also 2/3 of my drawers. On the bottom drawer I found an old jewelry box that I had picked up from a family secret santa type event over a decade ago. I was throwing things away left and right, but when I came upon said jewelry box, I noticed it was strangely heavy. So, curiousity sparked, I opened it to see what treasures layed within. I opened the box and on the top layer I found some of my old medals and rank insignias. Junk. Toss. I removed the top layer with a waning hope of finding something interesting. When I did, I saw a small white box wedged in the corner. It was a ring box. No way! It can't be what I thought it was...I flipped the box over and over looking for any sort of embroidery or name brand, but it was plain all around. Opening the lid, though, I found what I was looking for: White Hall. It was empty, ofcourse, but I had no idea i still had the box for my engagement ring. I spent a second wondering what state the rings were in. hmmm. Junk. Toss.
