With a loud sigh, he fidgets, and pulls at the clothing. They're not coming off, obviously. So he ignores it for now, and goes to examine the files. He can see his name, and Kira, as well, and he's interested in what the files have to say. Maybe he can help his Mello and Matt this way, by researching for them.)

[catching sight of Near, Light heads his way idly, but then hangs back a bit. she isn't sure if this is one of the ones she knows or knows of, and in any case he seems to be quite absorbed in his reading. so instead she just leans against one of the desks and watches him, ready to smile and say hello if he should glance up and make eye contact. in the mean time, she picks up one of the folders and starts flipping through it idly herself.]
