It was because of this personal, physical therapy that he arrived to this room. He was tired and entered the closest room that wasn't labeled with an 'X'. When he realized it wasn't a typical room, he tried to turn to leave. But his legs were burning from exhaustion and the seats nearby were tempting. He decided that he could at least sit down before attempting to leave.
In his tiredness, he didn't notice the others in the room. (He was too used to being alone and trapped within his own, internal world.) Near shuffled to the closest seat by the door and sat down to rest. He blinked in veiled surprise when he hand touches something next to him. It's a manila folder, filled with papers and labeled with the word 'Kira'. The name left a poor taste in his mouth. Part of him wanted to take the tip of the folder and fling it to the floor. But another part, the stronger part, wanted to know what it was.
When he opened it, his eyes widened; it was a detailed record of the Kira case. A record, a timeline, that was filed by him. They were his own notes, his own evidence, that he compiled in order to find out where Kira and the notebook was.
And it went on. Near, entranced, continued to read.]

[catching sight of Near, Light heads his way idly, but then hangs back a bit. she isn't sure if this is one of the ones she knows or knows of, and in any case he seems to be quite absorbed in his reading. so instead she just leans against one of the desks and watches him, ready to smile and say hello if he should glance up and make eye contact. in the mean time, she picks up one of the folders and starts flipping through it idly herself.]
