well made it back from vacation :)
Had a good time in Florida...
I didn't do any of the "mouse" parks... but did the "beer" parks instead
(The beer parks are all owned by Anheuser-Busch).. so pre-purchased an Orlando Flex-Ticket for $208.00.
It's good for 14 days from the date of first use, and is good at Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure, Sea-world, Wet-N-Wild and Busch Gardens in Tampa.
It also includes the Express-Pass feature good at Universal and Islands of Adventure.
Parking is about $8.00 at each of the parks. With the flex-ticket, once you pay for parking one day and you decide to visit another park, you don't have to pay for parking again on the same day.
Priced separately, admission to each is:
Universal 54.75
Island of Adventure 54.75
Sea-World 53.95
Wet-N-Wild 32.95
Busch Gardens - 53.95
so that totals $250.35
and since I went back to Universal and I of A again, that would have totaled 359.85, so I actually saved $151.85.
If you haven't been to Busch Gardens before, it's a change of pace from the cartoon and movie sets of the Orlando parks... it's more of a african themed park, with wild animals and such.
I learned a few things about going this time of year..
The parks mostly open at 9 am. Go at 9 am. Even though they are open until 8 or 9 pm in the evening, the afternoon thunder and lightening storms begin each day about 3 or 4 and lasting until about 7 or 8.
One day it knocked out the phones in my condo unit (I was online at the time and had the phone lines and laptop power supply plugged into a surge protector - makes me glad I did, otherwise I wonder what would have happened to the laptop).
Well. it's back to work tomorrow. I have to take Thursday off to attend a funeral in Tacoma for a long time friend - he was 87
http://obit.mountainviewtacoma.com/obit_display.cgi?id=131472&listing=Current Might go check out another park that is now open too..
It's St. Edwards. It's located on Lake Washington, near Kenmore.
It's strictly a day use park... so might stop on Thursday morning and take a look.
