We have finished Lost Season 2 and have begun working on Carnivale. So far we've watched 2 episodes and I hope they're not going where I think they're going...or I'm going to be pissed.
Everytime I think of Carnivale I see flashed of The Dead Zone and Swan Song. Lets hope not.
Writing is continuing and although I havn't worked on the summary I have been forced to go over the individual chapters and work on them. I got crits back on chapter 2. This is the party where we meet all of the characters. Most of the crits were good with just a couple of minuses on the info dump in the first part.
One of the crits I got was on Ciberia. She's the Manthootian warrior who we find out in her back story is sterile. This is her main motivation, it makes her seek out life beyond the village. The crit came back that I should bring it out in conversation at the gathering, maybe like this?
Allion: Boy, Daisy I sure hope we have lots of kids.
Daisy: Yep....me too.
Allion: How about you Cibberia?
Ciberia: (glumly) I can't I'm sterile
(cue music: BUMP BUMP PAAAAAAA)
Too dramitic for my taste. Luckily I don't have to follow crit advice.
However I'm thinking of moving Chapter 3 Allion marching to Deserata and putting in Daisy at the Shrine in it's place. However, I read that chapter for the first time in about 2 years....Ahhhhh it stinks! Too much info dump. I hope that this is a sign that I'm becomming a better writer and not, "My stuff just stinks but I only notice that with the old stuff."
