Yes, yes, yes, and yes. I was just called for a two night stint at the Damus Space Center playing some good classic jazz standards. 100.00 a night, not bad. Though I have to sight read the gig, i hate that--i never feel quite prepared even if I know all the tunes. I slipped under the Seattle musicians union too.
I also secured a job with a bossa nova group for some Seattle area gigs and a Studio Session, which means I get to play on a sellable c.d. Pretty cool for me. I got the job over about a dozen saxophone players who could (and have) blown circles around me at rehearsels and jam sessions. But when you don't sound like everyone else, people notice--and it's a good thing. I got the job because I sound and play like Stan Getz, who created a pop explosion in 62' with bringing Jazz Samba (desafinado, girl from ipanema, corcovado....) to North America.
So I met someone with a very curious career on tuesday at the gym....He was a competetive eater; I met him after he gave me some pointers on increasing my bench press max (235, 160% of my body weight--roughly). Anyways, it turns out he holds 2 world records...7--4 pound apple pies in 18 minutes and 19 pounds of ice cream in like 10 or 12 minutes....wow. He was really nice and probably one of the largest fellows I have ever seen--however he wasn't fat at all....It turns out he went to Issaquah High School in the mid 90's....
I love it when things just happen in your life and you have complete confidence in the outcome, whatever it is....i could never be that confident without God. This verse comes to mind right now "But seek first HIS Kingdom and HIS righteousness, and all these things will be given to you" Mark 6:33....it's true, blessings blessings and more blessings...
I saw Kristina and Her boyfriend today but I forget his name...guadelupe? That was fun, it had been awhile, it was nice to see them happy!
I can't explain my image, but it's not dirty.
Yeah, my birthday is in 17 days!
