Made it safely to Ohio and back. My lady returned safely from Denver. Both she, I, and the girl called Step made it safely up to and back from PA. The LAN fest was reasonably fun but slightly disappointing since it was all Half-Life with no leavening with Warcraft or Age of Kings much less board games (though I was told to be sure to bring Settlers). Oh, well. I came home carrying my shield a few times and had died well when I came home on it.
During the trip to Ohio, $MOM and I stopped at a Hardees for lunch. I hadn't been to one for a while, there not being one convenient to my home. Their main offering now is thick Angus burgers: a 1/3 pound one, a 1/2 pound one, and a double with two 1/3 pound patties. Had the 'small' one. Good but messy. Too much sauce, I guess. The reason I mention all of this is their unusual salesmanship. One sign said roughly, 'We may have longer lines, but it takes time to cook thicker burgers.' Another said something like, 'Burgers with more high quality meat cost more. Burgers with more low quality meat do not.' Just seemed like an interesting tactic. On the downside, one of the reasons I went to Hardees was because I had gone to a fast food place on a previous vacation and had a pretty good chicken fried steak sandwich. I thought it might have been Hardees. Either it wasn't or they no longer have it. Maybe it was Roys.
Hope all is well with you and yours and that your turkey day was good.
