A Surprise Visit with chloeas

Chloe nearly had a heart attack when she heard the elevator's doors opening, she had just walked out of the shower and didn't hear Oliver when he called her name, she wrapped her towel tightly around herself and stepped out in the hallway slowly.

When she didn't answer, he figured she may have been at the Planet working late. Letting out a breath, he stepped farther into the apartment, setting his bag on the floor and raking a hand through his hair. The sound of quiet footfall made him whirl in surprise and his eyes widened slightly at the sight of Chloe standing in the entrance to the room, nothing but a towel wrapped around her, her hair and skin dripping wet.

It wasn't an unwelcome sight in the least.

He blinked at his own thought. Where the hell had that come from?

"Hey."

Her eyes widened when she saw him, her hand tightening around her towel and then she sighed in relief, "it's you..." she ran her free hand through her damp hair, "I only heard the elevator."

"Sorry. I called out, but I guess you didn't hear me over the sound of shower." His eyes swept over her and then he met her eyes for a moment. "Didn't mean to just drop in--or to scare you. I didn't have a chance to call."

He glanced back at her again, raising an eyebrow. "What do you have in mind?" he asked curiously.

She shrugged a little, glad that he didn't say no right away, "I don't know, maybe watch something? I haven't unpacked my DVDs yet, but they are pretty organized."

Now there was something he hadn't done in awhile. He couldn't remember the last time he'd watched anything on DVD, or even just for fun, for that matter. "Yeah, all right," he agreed with a slight shrug.

Chloe nodded, smiling at him then walking over to the box that was sitting by the couch, the only think she had yet to unpack, "any preferences?"

He glanced at her sideways, wondering how both Lois and Clark would feel about that particular scenario. He had a feeling neither of them would be very pleased. "It's a ways off. No sense worrying about it now right?" He smiled faintly.

She considered him for a long moment then nodded, smiling softly, "true, I wish the Talon still sold Mrs. Kent's pies, that would definitely be a reason to miss Smallville."

"She could go national. Mama Kent's Pies," he joked, leaning back against the sofa. "It'd fly off the shelves."

Chloe raised her eyebrows and grinned softly, shaking her head, "I'm guessing Mrs. Kent wouldn't share her secret recipes, even if it meant becoming a billionaire."

Chloe raised her eyebrows, a little surprised but smiled softly back at him.

"I was just thinking that Clark is a lucky guy." He smiled back at her.

She frowned a little, cocking her head, "why?"

He paused, his eyebrows furrowing a little. The frown on her face told him a story that he didn't want to hear and brought up a word that he didn't think should come to mind when someone thought of her. Under-appreciated.

"Well, it must be nice to have you around all the time. Help him stay on track." He watched her intently.
