I started listening to Kpop because I needed a constant stream of verbal Korean and I like the sticky quality of music. You end up with random bits of lyrics trapped in your mind. Here’s a sampling of what’s currently on rotation for me:

"Tarantallegra" by Junsu/Xia: My friend’s a big fan of JYJ and I’ve tried listening to them but I can’t get into any of their music. Tarantallegra is the title track of Junsu’s solo album (the second J in JYJ) and it is simply mesmerizing. If your video’s going to be banned anyway, this is the way to go: with an unnerving number that makes people question themselves while still making them want to dance. A welcome change from the sugar-coated standards of Kpop.

"La Di Da Di" by Cross Gene: Mostly here for Shin Won-ho, who killed it in the first episode of the drama Big. Look at him at
1:19, heading up the chorus line with that fierce face of his. The song (and the group) isn’t anything special don't even get me started on the pink suit, rofl but it’s firmly stuck in my head so they’ve done their jobs.

"Be Mine" by 2NE1: I can’t wait for their comeback.
Wonder World album by the Wonder Girls: This is the first time I’ve ever heard their full album and it is almost perfection. “Stop!” and “SuperB” in particular have merited getting stuck on repeat.

"Good Day" by IU: Sometimes her “little sister” image is too much, but there’s no denying IU’s talents.
