Haven't been able to post or write since my last post in June - and now it is September!
RL has been hella busy - a number of software and hardware updates at work, one that involved weekend as well as regular work-week for most of July. Why must RL take up so much of my time?
Next was the mass import of the Ink Stained Fingers archive to Ao3 - we have been inventorying and trying to locate writers and testing the import program (much easier than doing them one at a time). 95% of the work is now done; there were a couple of works that didn't transfer, and I have to check that the linked works are okay as well still.
After that, Dragoncon! Which just finished! It was very tiring and fun - I got to talk about Sherlock Holmes, and I saw the Torchwood cast several times (and got the table-cards for Gareth, James (Marsters) and Naoki! And I saw Gillian Anderson and Alex Kingston (separate panels!)! They were both wonderful, and I loved Alex's idea that River and Captain Jack should have adventures together! They would drive the Doctor crazy, wouldn't they?
Back at work - and I just discovered the Hillywood parody of Sherlock! I heard about it on the drive home, when the Baker Street Babes were interviewing them, so I watched it today at work during lunch (better internet connection at work). It is funny and amazing and fun! If you haven't seen it yet, go to Youtube and search for Hillywood. I am now watching the Behind-the-scenes, which is great fun. Then on to watch the rest of their work, and to Patreon to donate to their projects.
And then in two weeks I am off to Las Vegas - for work! It's a conference (Evolution16) with Bill Nye as the keynote speaker. The software is Code42's Crashplan, which I championed to UGA and have talked about at several conferences. I am in the running for an award! And I have never been to Vegas, so this will be fun! I will only be there three days (staying at the Cosmopolitan hotel on the Strip), so I am looking forward to it.
In between all of that, I hope to have the time to write. I have several chapters of the auxilliary stories in Watson's Folly universe, then I have many more stories burning holes in my brain. So more soon!
