Jericho

I love Netflix. More specifically, I love Netflix instant-queue, which is especially handy for watching TV series.

My latest venture into a TV series is Jericho. The series was short-lived, only lasting to the 7th episode of Season 2. At first, you might wonder why the series lasted that long, because the first half of Season 1 is not without its flaws. Big glaring flaws, at that.

First off, for a TV series to be great, it needs to hook your interest right off the bat. Jericho succeeds in this only because it's the only TV show I'm aware of that revolves around surviving a nuclear holocaust. Uniqueness for the win!

However, the story just plods along through most of Season 1 without any real intensity or excitement. It starts to pick up at the end of the first season. Then something amazing happened; Season 2 was awesome!

This is why Jericho failed. It lost all of its potential viewership in the first season, leaving only die-hard fans to rally for its existence. It's a shame, but this has happened to other good series too. At least the 7th episode of Season 1 wraps up enough stuff that it doesn't completely leave you hanging on for more.
