Mormonism in the light of spirit-filled Christianity

When I was in High School I was friends with a few Mormon families. I was welcomed into homes, surrounded by love, and was sent several sets of missionaries to my house. Martinizing was owned by Mormons (hence the nickname Mormonizing), and at points my coworkers and I would get into discussions of doctrine--never laid out quite this clearly, though.

At one point, some church (I think Kensington) held an ecumenical conversation between a Mormon and Protestant (I even bought a book there, but never read it--I think it's buried in my parents' basement). And since then, I've become close friends with a couple of (I believe saved) Catholics. Any thoughts on ecumenism between significantly different denominations?

Thanks, I'm glad to be writing again.

And yes I have many thoughts on the subject. Let me collect them and write them. It's funny you ask because I've been chewing on this question for a little while anyway. Paul actually adresses the negative side of being too open as he scolds his fellow apostles in Ephesians. I'm getting ahead of myself. :) I'll write more in a couple of days.
