On a significantly more pleasant note
I'd like to welcome my oldest and very dear friend Melanie to Livejournal! Seriously, it's about time you joined our LJ family, dear. :-D
Melanie is looking to use her journal mainly for her theories of Harry Potter, which are all very interesting indeed, rather than a daily discussion of the mundane little details of life, as I tend to. If you have read all five books, and you would like to see what she has to say on them as well as specuation on Book 6, her LJ Name is Hermione_Hana.
In her honor, I'm going to make a list of the top ten things I love about Melanie.
10. She is *mostly* responsible for getting me into Harry Potter.
9. She is the only friend I have since babyhood, and while others have used length of friendship to tell embarrassing stories about how I used to be a truly annoying brat, Melanie never does.
8. Even if she wanted to tell embarrassing stories about how I used to be a truly annoying brat, she couldn't, because she most likely doesn't remember them.
7. She and her husband, Phil, are the most hospitable couple I've ever known in my entire life.
6. She is in agreement with me that Ron won't die by the end of the series. Seriously, I will cry my stinking eyes out.
5. I was a royal pain in her ass while she was planning her wedding, and she loves me anyway.
4. She was not a royal pain in the ass while I was planning my wedding, showing what an amazingly gracious person she is.
3. She surprised me by flying in from Florida for my shower.
2. She's met my entire family (more or less) at some point, and hasn't run screaming away.
