You really, REALLY have to get your hands on the records of El Senor Coconut. They are refreshing and fun! (and have helped me get through the recent ups and downs - Academic, Dating and Family ones, that is).
The first one of this records is El Baile Aleman... Latinized versions of Kraftwerk songs (to those who don't know, Kraftwerk is a German seminal techno band from the 70's and 80's)... The Versions of Showroom Dummies in Cha-Cha-Cha and Autobahn in Cumbia are my personal favourites. This is my favourite by far!
They also have this Party Songs album (I have yet to burn it. I only burned El Baile Aleman and I have heard them through Yahoo! Music (not-so)Unlimited (which, by the way is getting better. They already have put four of the five Tarwater albums. Way to go!). Smooth Vaporator in Cha-Cha-Cha, and the slow dance versions never sounded better.
There is a third one coming, called Yellow Fever, which includes a Venezuelan singer (*boasts arrogant pride* LOL) and it is supposed to version classic themes of a Japanese band (please, come back to this entry later. I promise I will give you more detailed information once I finish with this paper and get out of class).
Well, back to my Lobbying paper... and to keep enjoying El Baile Aleman in the process. ;)
