Of course, it is very obvious that the reasons the Republicans have to disaprove the ban on gay marriage is to look for more votes, and it is very blatant here. But this is still good news! I, for one, feel very happy about all of this. Take that, Dubya!
I guess this could also push conservatives to re-think the values they support. The process, if it occurs, might be an interesting one... Not without its hard battles and headaches. That does not mean they would swing to the other side, but that they would just take a hard look at their values before deciding.
