here i was, worrying about how the neighborhood had changed a bit since i was a kid because people were going around smashing pumpkins...and BAM! with the perfect 'tough luck comedy movie' timing delivery...my car was broken into. sometime between 2am and 6am, which is when my mom gets up for work, iirc. stereo was taken. like...the WHOLE STEREO.

Aw man, sorry to hear about your car. I had my car broken into in Japantown several years ago, and remember haw bad it felt (personal-invasion-wise)

If, by chance, that you still have the receipt for the stereo, you can get the insurance company to replace it when they fix the car. Definitely get the gas tank checked out! :/

My friend had her car stolen. They didn't steal the radio, but she got a receipt for another friend's car stereo and reported it stolen. Insurance gave her a new car stereo. LOL.

Good luck in getting it back. I'm so paranoid I've taken the faceplate off of my stereo except for maybe a handful of times. Though, that doesn't stop me from losing the faceplate. I think my neighborhood is super dull, though. I left my ipod on the seat once and no one bothered.
