"The burlesque existentialist is a stock character of the popular imagination, dressed in black and uttering gnomic assertions about life and the universe."
The phrase "burlesque existentialist" does not make me imagine the bleak goth existentialist stereotype. It makes me think of hot girls in very little clothing dancing about while singing about the lack of absolute meaning in the universe.
And it makes me smile.
