After Buffy and before Twilight, Vampire Diaries, and True Blood, I discovered a little series of books that blew my head out of the water. The author was L.A. Banks and seamlessly her tales of Damali Richards merged religion, myth, good, evil, love, and lust into wonderful pieces of art.
