Woke up Saturday morning and decided that the TV really needed to be wall mounted. Like, I wasn't going to make it through the day if I didn't mount that TV. That's a completely normal urge, right?
Somehow mounting the TV led to buying a Wii U. I'd explain the connection better, but frankly I have no idea how that connection worked. Mounting the TV let me remove the entertainment center, which let me clean up some of the older systems that were on it but not even hooked up, but I don't know what part of that said to me that it was time to get a new one. Either way, one short trip to the store and a visit with one of the best random clerks I've ever dealt with, and I had one plugged in. Mind you, I neglected to buy any games, so there's just the Nintendoland pack in. And while I'm interested in the older games you can get through the virtual console, very few of them have been updated for the Wii U. You can still get them, but you need a Wii remote to do so, and I also neglected to pick up one of those. So yeah, need to make another trip this weekend... All in all, a worthwhile but poorly planned decision was made.
Also, friend names to add people on there please, if anyone else has one.
Unrelated to all that, Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch was fantastically fun. Not balanced or even in content distribution or anything, but so much fun. Also had a phenomenally good localization, which I'm always a sucker for.
