Our beautiful maple tree out front dropped all of its leaves and it's so nice to be able to see what's happening on all of the branches. I saw a downy woodpecker and a flicker among our usual chickadees, cardinals, and titmice. A flock of cedar waxwings even came through. That was a first for me. They stayed on the branches and watched the traffic at the bird feeder. Unlike the regulars, they were a bit suspicious of the cat twitching in the window. Sorry about the lack of pictures. I was cheek to cheek with little man, pointing out birds and that seemed way more important than running for the camera. <3
I grabbed a platform feeder at Lowe's today and I'm looking forward to seeing who it attracts.
