Quilting, quilting, quilting

I finished little girl's quilt. It's brighter than I meant for it to be, but not as bright as this camera makes it look.

It has a flannel backing with a butterfly pattern.

I finished the top for PA's cousin's new baby. I don't have pics of it, yet. I still need to baste it, but I'm putting it off until this weekend. It's a pain b/c I have to sweep and mop the floor, let it dry, use painter's tape to hold the backing down, spread and smooth the batting and the top, crawl around on my hands and knees for a few hours putting 300 safety pins in it and fend off PA's comments about the need for "basting lingerie."

On the horizon:  I'm making a quilt for Aunt Carol. I have most of the pieces cut out and started putting some together this evening. Here's the center square. It's a rich dark blue, not black like the camera wants you to think. This is square one of 25. It's going to be a queen size behemoth.

Don't believe me?

How bout now?  (That's my hand.)  It'll be 90"x90" and the subject of much ire by the time it's all put together.

I also got material for a lap quilt for my mom. I have an actual pattern for it. I'm so excited because it'll be the first one I haven't had to do all the figurin' on. I got her to make a decision on the border and binding, so I need to order the fabric for that. PA said, "I still don't understand how buying fabric always leads to buying more fabric."  I cried and told him he didn't really love me. ;)
