So I'm sitting here in a hat, scarf, and jacket

because I'm ridiculously cold for this late in March (below freezing, wtf?), and I had to bounce a little because I've officially unveiled a new stitch marker design in my shop tonight.

I call them Widgets, and they're a split marker suitable for both knitting and crochet. Hell, I'd wear them as jewelry, I think they're that pretty. I haven't seen exactly this sort of integrated design before, most people seem to like to make dangly things. But I don't really care for floppy dangly stitch markers since I think it makes them harder to pass, so I made mine all in one piece.
Have some pics, with blatantly commercial links to the listings with more pics and info.

Dalmatian jasper and nickel, and tiger's eye and brass. Both are non-tarnishing wire. While I'd like to use copper I'm a little leery of oxidation risks. Not that any of us would leave our markers in our UFOs and then leave our UFOs hanging around indefinitely. Nooooo, not at aaaaaaalllll.

They're hammered for sturdiness, and it takes me a ridiculous amount of time to make one and quite an astonishing amount of wire, but at least I'm getting better at streamlining the process. And the name is sort of a play on words, but I'll leave it at that.

When the weather gets seasonably warm again, I'm going to dye up more yarn for the shop (of course) and some feathers for a project. But with the cold weather, I'm totally justified sitting inside playing with beads. :D Which is why I branched out into stitch markers in the first place.
