So tonight I was grumpy. I really didn't want to cook. Will and I had a long, busy day running errands, and all I wanted was to pay the nice man and have him bring me hot food. But one look at the bank balance told me that I really needed to be a good girl and COOK all of that beautiful food I'd prchased at the farmer's market this morning.. so the dinner was born.
Deep apologies for the cameraphone pics. I need to charge up my real camera's battery. Srsly.
I got inspired halfway through, and it really turned out to be a lovely meal. Apologies to Will, who had to endure my deep grumpiness for 3/4 of the cooking process.
Mmm.. dinner.
Top view.. Clockwise from top: Baby spinach salad with pecans, egg, homemade tortilla strips, red onion, and blackberry chipotle balsamic dressing. Basil and neufchatel stuffed mushrooms with parmesean and scallions. Purple-garlic studded roasted tri-tip. Bacon-roasted purple potatoes. (Not pictured, a phenomenal bottle of Tait "Ball Buster" red wine gifted to me by Jamie for my birthday.
The glorious Repast..
Mmm, meat.
Will managed to roast this to perfection. I like a man who knows how to handle his meat.
Stuffed Mushrooms - an afterthought!
I just couldn't slice up these beautiful criminis, they were begging to be stuffed. So stuff them I did. And YUM.
