Saturday Morning Musings

I am sitting on the couch by my front window, which is open. The scent of the deep red rose is wafting through on the gentle breeze. I am anticipating getting up off of said couch and getting my hands into the dirt, and it's a lovely thought.

I'm really just so happy with my home. Perhaps I shouldn't say that too loudly - the universe might get designs on it. But I really am. It will soon be a really awesome place to be. I think I've already identified my "junk eddies"... where things tend to pile up and annoy me. It will be good to figure out some solutions to those areas and get a system going for keeping things tidy.

I had a fairly frustrating moment last night when I realized that the washer that I am borrowing from a friend is not working properly. It fills, but doesn't agitate. It only spins occasionally, when I blow on it just the right way. So I now have a washer filled with cold water that won't drain. Which, after the $150 truck rental and $40 in parts I've bought to get it here and hook it up, is kind of frustrating.

(let me just say here that this is in no way intended to belittle the gift from the friend! None of us could have known, and it was suuuuper sweet of her to let me borrow it and meet me in Santa Clara to get it! )

So now we're going to see what to do about it. But the fact is that I have a houseguest coming in a week, and towels to wash and undies I need... so I'm thinking it's either laundromat time again, or I will need to humbly ask miss V for her help again. I was so hoping that I wouldn't need to bother her any more with it. But that's just the way the agitator turns, I suppose.

I bought new plants! Maybe I'll try to take some pictures today. :) I even have a tomato!

Oh, and I finished the tiara last night. I hope the bride is pleased!
