OK, here's the sitch:
On Saturday, April 17, a mere 20 minute drive from me, Joe Flanigan and David Hewlett (Lt. Col. John Sheppard & Dr. Rodney McKay, of Stargate: Atlantis, respectively) will be signing autographs and taking fan photos with folks at the 2010 Vancouver Stargate Convention. For the first time ever, they will be allowing a 'sandwich' photo - you get to be in the middle of the two of them.
There are tickets available to this event (though I suspect that window is closing fast), and I can afford them. My hesitance comes only from the fact that I've never attended a convention or gone anywhere to purposefully meet a celebrity that I worship. I've always felt that this is a line I do not want to cross - real life and fantasy, never the twain shall meet.
Also, there are lines of 'cool' I won't cross. How is this different from geeking out at a Harry Potter convention? HP Cons are about the fen. Sci Fi cons are about the stars. Very different vibe and situation. So, a POLL:
