There has been less than fantastic luck this morning. Both of the cars I was going to go test drive were bought last night. Alas. Instead I went to a VW dealership and test drove an '05 GTI 1.8T. That was both fun and nerve-wracking, since it was a manual and I am only sort of O.K. at driving manuals. Driving stick shift at low speeds = tricky. I wish I could have driven it around a bit more, especially on the freeway because it would have been fun to punch the turbo and see what the acceleration was really like. Toodling around east Portland just isn't the same. It definitely seems like the kind of car I'd like to drive though. I'm just not interested, or able, to fork over $17k at this point.
