When she tried out the wings she was so disappointed. She thought she'd be flying.

Oh my beautiful daughter. She and Olivia were here the other day and ended up staying into the night, watching shows and laughing out loud downstairs. It comforts me when she is here.

A few weeks back, Kevin's housecleaner gave me a picture she'd found buried in the basement. It was an old shot of us and Tim and Sarah, our best friends. I was flooded with memories of the times we'd shared, and how far apart we've drifted, yet still remained friends. Sarah is remarried and has a little girl, TJ is in college, Tim...well, I won't go into that, but he's had a rough road lately.

I brought the picture (still in the frame I'd put it in years ago) home and laid it on my dresser.

The next morning I noticed that Christine had propped it up, making it a little more prominent. It was a tangible sign that she'd been here, and that she'd hopefully been smiling, and did that to make me smile, too. I love it when she does little things like that.

It's so much more touching than a sinkful of dirty dishes. ;-)
